First Smiles and Snowflakes
i only looked for a second,
it all seemed so clear...
the clouds parted,
a flock of birds approached in the distance.
and then the sun came out.
a smile.
all in an instant the feelings came back.
a crisp wind blew out of the north,
the smell of frozen leaves in the air...
the touch of old man winter on my shoulder.
it's just the beginning i think.
a half smile.
fun and boredom wrapped in one flake,
dancing their way downward.
stretching its gaze to a place far below...
they finally lay to rest.
good morning son...
it's a winter wonderland.
